HISTORY: Seto and his younger brother Mokuba were orphaned when they were young and lived in an orphanage until Seto was ten, when he played a chess game against Gozaburo Kaiba and won. Kaiba was the wealthy CEO of KaibaCorp, a company that manufactured war tanks and other such things, and Seto saw this as his opportunity to give him and Mokuba a future, so when he challenged Gozaburo to chess, the condition was if he won, then Kaiba would adopt them both. Gozaburo did so and realizing how intelligent Seto was, trained him as his heir to the company. Only something unexpected happened for Gozaburo- Seto bought him out of the company's shares at age 15, gaining the 51% necessary to make him CEO. It is rumored that Gozaburo threw himself out of a window at that point. With KaibaCorp under his control, Seto changed the company's focus entirely from warfare to manufacturing toys, and focused on a project called KaibaLand, an amusement park for orphans to come and play (as well as other children too, of course). Seto attended Domino High School, where he met Yuugi Motou. Thier paths met often after their initial duel after Kaiba stole Yuugi's grandpa's Blue Eyes White Dragon, and Kaiba became involved in the fate of Yuugi and his Millennium Puzzle, despite his disbelief in such things. It was eventually revealed that Seto is the reincarnation of an Ancient Egyptian Priest Set(h), cousin to the Pharaoh and possessor of the Millennium Rod. CHARACTER: Name: Kaiba Seto (Original) Age: Series: Yuugiou Species: Human Gender: Male Sexuality: Sexually active, probably bisexual, but hasn't really "labeled" himself as anything. Training Division: Mechanical: Technology Appearance: Seto Kaiba has a very distinctive appearance, even disregarding the supposedly "gravity-defying" trenchcoats he so often wears. He is quite handsome, but even though he's attractive, he has such a cold demeanor that it's hard to tell whether that detracts or enhances his good looks. He is lean and tall, with short brown hair and bangs that fall into his deep blue eyes. His face is usually set in a cool, distant expression, only ever wearing sneers, frowns, or looks of indifference. It is a rare occasion to see him smile- some might say pigs will fly before that happens. Seto Kaiba is very much into himself, so it is no surprise that his clothes reflect his superiority complex (as well as his desire to distance himself from others). He is often seen wearing long trenchcoats that flare out at the bottom, forcing anyone who would try to stand next to him at least to stay as far away as his coat. He seems to favor darker colors, which reflect his serious nature. EDIT: Soon after Kaiba's first roommate arrived, only days after Kaiba's own arrival, he lost his coat. Schuldig thought it would go well with his ensemble, apparently. Kaiba has yet to get a replacement, though this is by choice. Personality: Seto Kaiba takes a long time to get close to someone. And by long time, you need to have been with him since childhood, you need to be his blood relative, and he needs a good mind crush for him to even care. His cold dispostion is a result of his tough childhood, being forced to grow up early, being corrupted by money, and the development of an ego that makes him think he doesn't need anyone. He is arrogant, rude, condescending, indifferent, ruthless, and in general a bastard to the world. Unfortunately for Kaiba, he cannot always do things without others' help, a fact that irritates him to no end, though after the of receiving help, do not expect a "thank you" from him. And if you expect help from him later on, don't count on it (unless you plan on begging). He feeds off others' admiration of him and gets off beating those weaker than him. He is obsessed with being better than anyone else and will do almost anything to eliminate an opponent. Not to say there isn't the rare chance that Kaiba may do something that seems almost nice and civil of him, but chances are that if that happens, it was only as a last resort, or him being backed into a corner and having no choice but to get along with others. As stated before, he will do almost anything to get what he wants- if that absolutely requires he cooperate with people, then he will. But that doesn't mean that afterwards you and he will be friends- in Kaiba's opinion, he doesn't need friends, or anyone else for that matter, because friends symbolize weakness and a dependence on others, and Seto Kaiba works alone. Abilities/Strengths/Weapons: Money. He has it and in abundance. Besides that, he has his determination to achieve whatever it is he desires, and then the willingness to manipulate without remorse. He has no special abilities or weapons, though his past self (the Egyptian High Priest Set(h) and cousin to the Pharaoh) possessed the Millennium(Sennen) Rod. Kaiba, however, does not believe he ever had a past life and is unwilling (for a while) to believe in such a thing as magic. His Duel monsters deck would count as a weapon only if the monsters were real when summoned, in which case his most powerful weapons would be his three Blue Eyes White Dragons and Obelisk. Weaknesses: His main weakness is his belief that he alone is enough, that friends are unnecessary, that he doesn't need others to get things accomplished. Basically, his people skills suck. He is an amazing business man, but he is so ruthless and uncaring for people's emotions, that it is hard for him to relate to others. Should he ever find himself in a situation where he would need to ask someone for help, he would fail miserably. His other weakness is his little brother Mokuba. Because Mokuba is the only person he cares about, the only thing besides Duel Monsters and his company that he loves, it is an easy way to get at Seto through Mokuba. So he is often kidnapped and then Seto is put in a very uncomfortable situation where he is not in control of the situation and may be forced to do something he would very much like to not have to do. Notable Possessions: He wears a locket around his neck, one that is shaped like a card. Inside is a photo of Mokuba from their days in the orphanage- Mokuba has the other half. His deck, especially his three Blue Eyes. He used questionable methods to obtain them, but the cards are his most precious possesion outside of Mokuba himself. |
